A Peaceful Ending

I have to say, this was quite a peaceful ending to a stressful, not so fun week. I came over to the Kelly's Friday night to get snowed in. We weren't anticipating so much snow! We didn't go outside and play this time, but we did have a lot of fun sitting around doing NOTHING. It was so nice to pretend like I didn't have 1000 things to get done. Mrs. Kelly and I had some great chats and watched John Adams together just before we forced the guys into watching the Miss America Pageant (they secretly loved it). I was definitely in need of this break (I know, you're thinking, you've only been in school 2 weeks!). Now I just need some motivation to do some homework. The preschool is closed tomorrow, so maybe I'll find some time to get motivated then. For now, happy snow days!

Feeling Productive

Today I am feeling rather productive. I was just going to vacuum and wipe down my bathroom counters, but I ended up going clean crazy and wiped down everything, deep cleaned, and organized things. Now I am filling my ipod with some CDs. I've already made my lesson plans for the preschool class Monday, and I am going to work on some homework in a bit. I'm not gonna feel like getting stuff done while it's snowing, I'll just wanna sit around and snuggle with a fire and hot chocolate! So, I'm pretty proud of myself for getting some things accomplished. It's a great feeling :)

A better day

So for those of you who have been tracking with me for the past week, you know that I have been in a bit of a pity party. Well, today was much better. I had classes, and they were pretty good (minus the 2 quizzes I nearly failed). Then, I came home and hung out with Jessica again. We went shopping to CATO, and she treated me to 2 new tops and 2 pairs of shoes (flats and closed toed black heals!) All for a grand total of $22! (I've been rockin' the deals lately). Then, we went and got Barbeque, brought it home, and I ate with her and my dad. Now, John is over here doing homework while we watch America's Best Dance Crew. Now I'm thinking I may end this week on a good note

So, yesterday got better as the day progressed. Jessica, my step mom, and I stole each other's music off itunes, she helped me find/kill the wasp, and we just hung out and chatted. I didn't do any homework because I just wanted to get my mind on something positive. 1822 was great, good friends, good time with God...

Now I'm feeling pretty sick. I have had a stuffy nose for the past month, and now it has decided to drain down my throat. Today was a sorta overwhelming day. I had a lot more homework than I anticipated, so I woke up and worked on it from 9-2:45, got ready, then went to my 3 hour class, then rushed over to Youth Group to sing a set I was very unprepared for. (That part is besides the point because kids got saved tonight!), and then went home to finish up more homework. Now I'm done, but I have 2 quizzes tomorrow.

I'm sorry, friends, for my negativity this week. I'm sure it will get better; just, the beginnings of the weeks are usually pretty hectic for me, and this whole sickness thing is no good.

So be praying for restoration. I promise I won't let my next blog be so morbid!

Bad Day

Before you start reading, just know that this post is going to be pretty morbid..

Today was not a good day. I couldn't sleep last night, kept waking up, and finally fell back into a nice sleep to wake up to my alarm just minutes later. I then had a feeling it was going to be a bad day, so I put on cute clothes sporting a bright blue polo and green sweater over top... Thanks but no thanks Ralph Lauren, my day still sucked.

I felt nautious and hot all day at school. I'm afraid of throwing up, so feeling nautious is like super bad for me.

Then, I was very eager to get home, so when I did, I put on PJs, and got in to bed. Well guess what visitor I had in my room?! A WASP! I was so not in the mood for that... so I got out of bed quick, then couldn't find it. So now I'm upstairs afraid to go back down, and all I wanna do is snuggle in my bed.

Just a few minutes ago when I was trying to tell Jess about what happened, I just started crying. Now, that was weird. I don't just do that for a not so important reason. I'm not on my period, I don't really know what's going on. I guess that all just happened, I'm tired, I've had a stuffy nose for the past month, and I'm starting to get overwhelmed with school work already... Anyways, just pray.

Oh Thrifting

Today was quite an adventure. I love different kind of days- days out of the norm. They are so fun. It all started out with spontaneously deciding to spend the night at the Kelly's last night around 12:30am. This morning, I woke up while everyone was already out the door, took a shower, and went to Target to buy some fresh undies (just being honest). I thought, oh its ok to leave the door unlocked, I'll just be gone 20 mins or so. Well, little did I know that the door locks from the inside... so needless to say, I locked myself out like a loser. Luckily, the Kelly's have a very comfy, quite impressive deck equipped with rocking chairs, a hot tub, and a flat screen TV, so I sat with a towel covering me and watched That 70's Show for 30 or so minutes while I waited for the fam.

After Mrs. Kelly so graciously let me back in, we went to a Flea Market with Annemarie, Amy, Bob, Kara, and Devin. It was sort of a bust, but definitely an adventure, so we then meandered over to Love of Jesus Thrift store (which I mistakingly called "Jesus Loves You" haha). On top of seeing a she-man, I bought a button up shirt, Lacoste rain jacket, and a DVD all for a grand total of $3.15!! After that we traveled over to the Flea Market by the Airport, and I bought a 16-piece legit teal and brown dish set for $10!!! Then, we ended at Diversity Thrift by the Diamond. It was a great time with great people! :) (Pictures to be eventually posted by Annemarie...hehehe).

After our day out, we came back to the Kelly's had pizza, and John and I took naps (babies).
Now, I am hanging out, playing Rock Band and such, with good friends.

And that was my day! Bye!

Meals

I have trouble actually making decent meals... and by have trouble I mean I just don't. I have grown up pretty much always making my own dinner, packing my own lunch, and so on. I guess I just go for what's easiest, fastest, and cheapest- which usually results in meals like microwavable anything, Ramen, pasta, PB&J's, and so on.
For instance, I just made a bowl of Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs.

Although quite delicious, it wasn't exactly the most nutritious meal. So, I need some inspiration here. My mind just tells me that healthy food not only takes too much effort, but also does not taste good. Now, I'm sure I am wrong; I just haven't broadened my horizons. Anyways, any help I can get would be greatly appreciated! :) Bon appetit!

Me2thedizo?

I forgot to mention that if you have received something from "Me2thedizo" its me. hahahaha. When I started a few days ago, I was utterly confused on how to follow people, or friend people, and it was asking me to sign in, and I had no clue what I was doing. I cracked up last night at Youth Group because so many people were like, "Some creeper is following me named Me2... something.. and I've asked everyone who it is, and no one knows." Sooo funny! So, sorry for the random creeper/follower... Maybe I'll try and figure out if I can de-follow people on that one. Chances of that are slim to none. Ok, bye!

That's a picture of me being
a creeper... hehehe

Final Product!

I think I finally finished editing my blog formats! Thanks to my amazing, thoughtful, and creative boyfriend, I have a personalized picture and new name in the hea

ding! I changed the blog name because I think I was trying to be too literal and serious with the last one; the truth is, I need to just be myself with this thing. I love getting cozy with a blanket on a comfy couch and chatting with people, so I hope to simulate that setting on my blog (as cheesy as that sounds). Clearly, my favorite color combo is teal and brown, so I went with that too. I hope you like it!

Today's school day wasn't too bad. Each class went by relatively fast (minus the lecture on William Blake... whose work I actually have come to enjoy). Some interesting high lights:
1. We watched an awesome documentary called 7 UP on 7 year olds from 1960's Britain. The director is literally documenting each person every seven years (14 UP, 21 UP, etc). 56 UP is coming out in 2011! I could explain more, but I'll stop there
2. I got hit on in
one of my classes... basically, eyeing me eating a regular Reece's cup, he segued into an introduction by persuading me to try a dark chocolate Reece's in the future... "They are delicious." Later, of course he forgot to print out the vocab words, so I had to share with him.. Then, to end the awkward encounter, as I swiftly gathered my things, he asked me what my next class was... Needless to say I quickly told him and jetted... Don't worry readers, John knows all about this.
3. I got to my World class to find that we were watching the rest of the French film in class... So I came home early last night and sat through that thing for nothing. Oh well, at least we didn't have to do any work work.
4. I had sent VCU my final transcripts from CNU 3 times, and each time VCU "never received them." Finally, I just had CNU send them to me, and I ran them over to the transfer woman. She took it from me and said, "Ok, I 'll run this through for you, Bye." THAT'S ALL IT TOOK!!! If I would have KNOWN that that's all I had to do, I wou
ld have done that in August! I guess sometimes you just have to do people's jobs for them in the real world.
5. I did a side braid today, and I must say, I am pretty impressed with myself :)

Ok, I'm done now. Sorry for the perpetual post!

Hero?

I forgot to talk about one thing that happened... Last night someone at 1822 passed out. It was during prayer in the middle of worship, so I was on stage. It happened, and I sort of waited there to see if it would just be a quick one. It took me a while to act, but I realized that I actually knew what to do! While everyone else did the things that most would do in that situation, I intervened and followed the correct procedure

(in case this ever happens around you, while the person lays on the ground, get a chair and prop their legs on it. The reason they passed out is because there wasn't enough blood or air getting to their brain, so you want to get their blood to rush to their head. DO NOT prop them up, change their environment, give them water, or anything like that. Just let it finish with their legs propped. Once they are awake and gathered, it's always a good idea to give them something sugary incase their blood sugar is low).

Anyways, for once in my life I actually stepped up and took charge. I felt bad telling people to do and not to do things, but it felt good to actually feel useful. Maybe I'm turning a new leaf- becoming more authoritative... hmm.. Anyways, the person is fine. She was out for a few minutes and of course was scared afterwords, shaking. The truth is, passing out happens pretty often and to all sorts of people. There may be a health reason for it, or maybe they just locked their knees; all in all, for some reason, the blood just doesn't get to the brain fast enough! So don't panic. Ok, there's my little medical shpeel for the day!

Back again

So, I had my first day back at school yesterday. I'm trying out a new Tuesday/Thursday four classes back to back schedule... So far so good. The only down fall is, I have to do all my homework on the days I'm not at school. For an English major, that's a lot of lengthy homework... I already have lots to read. For one of my classes, I have to finish watching a movie; actually, I have to watch a movie on my own every week for that matter! This seems easy, but I'm not a big movie person, so sitting through French films by myself is not going to be so savvy. Well, I should probably stop this blog, drink my coffee, and do all my reading and movie watching. At least I have a nice view down here!

PS- how are my blogging skills? Suggestions? ;)

The First One!

So, I almost successfully set up my Blogger account. Whew! Not gonna lie, I'm kinda scared about this whole blogging thing, but I think it's going to be good for me. I have been internalizing for the past.. well, my whole life. I've never really thought anyone could possibly care about what I do or have to say, so I am opening my mind up to thinking that people possibly could! Anyways, I still have a lot to learn about the new blogging crazy, so I could use any help I can get! Thanks for reading!
